Is it possible to network and have fun at the same time? HELL YES!
If you are an Etsy seller, you need to head over to the Forums. You may think it’s a waste of time to sit around with other sellers gabbing about low sales, critiquing other shops and chatting about your Starbucks coffee (which I did this morning!) but in actuality, these moments increase your exposure, sales, hearts and you will gain valuable advice at the same time. Did I mention my very first Etsy sale came from a forum conversation!
Take Friday for example. I had the most visitors to the Etsy Business blog after I spent a little bit of time starting new threads, responding to help questions and chatting away about various things happening in Etsy land. Today I have already set my highest visitor record thanks to my morning forum chatter. The photo below shows that in the span of 30 minutes, 11 out of 20 clicks came from forum visitors:
One thing worth mentioning, DO NOT go into the forums if you have any major work to do first. Get that stuff out of the way or use the forum for break time. It can become so addictive that people forget they are suppose to be crafting, photographing, listing and SELLING.

You are SO right with this. The forums are great for so many reasons! And yes, so addicting.
side note: what do you use to track your views (i.e. the photo of visitors)?
Holly´s last blog ..Reader Q & A
Hey Holly and to anyone else interested, I use StatCounter.com which is completely free and very useful!
Yep! Good point! I found this very blog through an Etsy forum post.

I like reading the gossip on the forums…at first I was struck by how “negative” a lot of the posts seemed…but then I realized that a lot of people have some really good ideas on how to improve etsy.
One of my favorite thing about the forums is that you can get some really concrete advice about boring yet important issues such as shipping, etc.
I am somewhat new to the forums and haven’t been in there much but I know I need to. From what I could see there doesn’t seem to be a way to subscribe to forums and receive email notfications about new postings. Is there a way to do this? If not, how do you ever see if someone replies to your posting? I’m figuring there must be a trick to this. Anyone know? Thanks so much for this great blog! ~Corinne @ Bagalicious

*Laughing softly.* I’m very new to etsy but not new at all to chatting. I love the forums.
gilliauna´s last blog ..Cornflower Confection Beaded Bookmark
I always get trapped in the forums once I open them up. It is so addicting. I do get alot of views but no orders from there. But they are very informative.
trish voss´s last blog ..Rainbow Fiber Optic Egg Necklace wire wrapped with Sterling Silver and Silk
Hey everyone, it’s true, it can be TOO addicting but you know the views are good no matter what.
If you are unable to craft (say you are at work, watching the little ones etc) you can at least catch up in the forums, network and have fun.
Justine Smith´s last blog ..Team Time: Wild Wise Witty Grandmamas
Man I’ve had to try very hard to limit how much time I would end up spending in the forums. I would go in real quick to just post a few things and the next thing I know it’s been 3 hours!
But I have made a few sales out of there, so it’s not all bad
